Community Battery Storage Systems Planning for Voltage Regulation in Low Voltage Distribution Systems

The regulation of the grid voltage within operational limits becomes increasingly challenging as residential photovoltaic (PV) adoption rises. Therefore, this study proposes a method for efficient planning multiple community battery energy storage systems (BESS) in low distribution embedded with high rooftop PV units. A bi-level optimization based on Neural Network Optimization Algorithm is developed to regulate grid-connected solar PV. Since BESS characteristics are crucial reliable operation networks, objective problem optimally place and operate collectively at distributed system level. charging/discharging protocol batteries management obtained utilizing linear programming that minimizes daily signal. Simulations were carried out modified IEEE test feeder examine impact integration installation profile. Experimental results show efficacy proposed enabling utility determine optimal location, capacity, number keep network magnitude acceptable bounds. In addition, demonstrate topology, load profiles, amount power highly influence characteristics.
